This week’s Board of Education meeting saw a few significant changes to the Hybrid Learning model currently in place. Superintendent Cummings announced that there would be no more fully remote Wednesdays, and instead students from alternating cohorts would go in for a half day each week. The day is only partially in person to leave room for staff meetings and professional development meetings teachers have on Wednesdays after school. These changes will be taken into effect on January 4, 2021, the week after winter break. During four day or otherwise shortened weeks, Wednesdays will follow a typical full day schedule.

Furthermore, FPS will be reinstating the day 1-2-3-4 rotation for high schools as opposed to the 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4 schedule which we have been experiencing. As a result, Cohort A will be in person on Mondays and Tuesdays while Cohort B will be in person on Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will alternate between cohorts on a weekly basis.
