Breaking: School Closure due to COVID Cases
FPS to Temporarily Shut Down FLHS, Possibly Other Schools
Fairfield Public Schools Superintendent Mike Cummings has released a statement confirming that Fairfield Public Schools will be shutting down Fairfield Ludlowe High School. The announcement came just after 3PM. As of 3PM, 4 FLHS students who have been in close contact with other students tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today. No teachers have contracted the virus though 2 staff have been quarantined. According to FPS, 3 locations in our school district have been affected.
FLHS will be shut down for the rest of the week. Classes will proceed as planned, and students will use the normal daily rotation schedule. FPS released plans for a potential school closure earlier this week which provides important details and specifics.
As of now, FLHS will reopen on Monday after a deep cleaning, but this may change as more information comes to light.
