Drop everything now, and go to your nearest movie theater to watch the Eras Tour Movie. If you have 3 hours to spare, The Eras Tour Movie is an affordable entertainment option that takes you through each musical era in Swift’s life. While everyone has their own music taste and preferences, the Eras Tour Movie uniquely provides a variety of music compiled into one genre – ‘Taylor Swift.’
Eras Tour v.s Movie:
Many fans were unable to purchase tickets to the Eras Tour due to the high demand and extreme prices, resulting in missed experiences such as dressing up as albums, trading bracelets, and watching Swift perform. The Eras Tour Movie is so special as it allows fans who could not come to the tour with the opportunity to participate in the same activities for an inexpensive price. People at the movies are able to show up in Style dressed as their favorite era, trade friendship bracelets, and feel a part of something that they weren’t able to before.
The movie provides fans, Swifties, an alternate experience to the Eras Tour with tickets ranging from $13.13 for children, and $19.89 to $22 for adults. Filmed at the notorious SoFi stadium in Los Angeles, California, the film highlights her final stop on the tour’s first leg. What is remarkable about Swift’s performance is that she does it with such ease – though it requires a lot of energy to sing, dance, and perform for over three hours, it all seems effortless and enjoyable to her. Unlike many song writers, the depth of her lyrics illustrates a story that comes to life, even from a 50-foot movie screen. During the movie, Swift’s vulnerable, raw emotions are captured making each song feel authentic and genuine.
How Engaging is the Movie?
At this point, it is common knowledge that Swift’s tour and movie have boosted the economy along with the bracelet making industry, but many wonder if the movie would provide an enchanting experience since it isn’t quite the same as the tour. For all of the fans who stood outside the concert stadiums or in nearby parking lots to sing along to the era’s tour, this movie is for you.
Despite Swift’s major success as an adult, she never fails to highlight her original songs that transformed her into the star she is today. This means including songs that reveal her highs, lows, and detours that molded her into the person she is today, which are especially shown through the dancer routines. The choreography that the background dancers perform perfectly encapsulates the pain, heartbreak, and love of Swift’s music.
A particularly touching performance was the song ‘tolerate it’, in the evermore album where Swift sets the tone of the song through her compelling choreography and acting that displays her impeccable storytelling abilities. Moments such as these in the film truly demonstrate her power to create a story that builds character and emotion, but more importantly connects her with fans.
Is the Movie Enjoyable for All?
With sold out movie theaters across the nation, it is apparent that Swift’s fans, Swifties, enjoyed the movie, but many pose the question, “Would this movie be enjoyable to a non-Swiftie?” From personal experience, I can say that the movie is a thoroughly entertaining experience for any music lover. The set list features a range of pop music, to indie rock, to folk pop, and even country music which provides a diverse variety for listeners.
Director Sam Wrench certainly took his job seriously by incorporating animations, zooming in on special features such as smoke, lighting, and handmade instruments, which created a special ambiance. He displayed the exciting environment of the concert through close up shots of fan reactions as well as Swift herself from a variety of stage perspectives. Sparks Fly on screen as Swift interacts with fans and simultaneously conveys her legitimate self while relieving each era of her life.
Does the Movie Live Up to Expectations?
As someone who was unable to partake in the Eras Tour concert, the movie was everything I would have expected and more, especially with the Era’s Tour chants and bracelets that are typically only exchanged at the concert. All of my Wildest Dreams came to life through hearing the songs I’ve listened to for years being translated into a visual performance that perfectly describes all the emotions I feel while listening to Swift’s music. There was no shortage of entertainment, whether you enjoy 10 minute long acoustic songs, or upbeat breakup songs – you will be endlessly engaged regardless of your preferences.
Is the Movie Worth it?
Even though the movie has a longer duration compared to other concert style movies, the time spent watching it is not a regrettable experience. The movie alone runs for 2 hours and 49 minutes, but there are many aspects of the movie theater that are provided to make the time well spent. One specialized feature is the Taylor Swift movie cups, buckets, posters, and even unique popcorn orders limitedly sold for the Eras Tour Movie. Call it What You Want, but these pieces of merchandise and orders allow for the movie to be worth it, as they add an exclusive feature to the overall movie experience that fans can look forward to.
Is the Movie Successful?
The movie received extreme support from Swifties and music fans in general. The eccentric film has already grossed $200 million worldwide, and resulted in a substantial profit margin. In a short amount of time it has taken over the top spot at the box office after just one week of being released and is expected to stay at number one for a while. Deservingly, it has become the highest-grossing concert film within United States history. As of October 27, 2023, the album 1989 Taylor’s Version has only further allowed for the success of the movie to increase by bringing more attention to the movie.
Final Judgment
If you were considering purchasing a movie ticket, you will be Enchanted by the amount of positive energy that is embraced through the movie. You don’t have to be a superfan to enjoy a fascinating performance and listen to quality music with friends and family. If you are considering seeing a movie and need a good recommendation, without hesitation this movie is the 1 for music lovers, and Taylor Swift fans.
